From there, the pipe is routed down through a dedicated first-floor closet wall chase, securing it through the basement ceiling joists before connecting directly to the gas water heater draft hood.

Result A fully sealed, mechanically supported gas exhaust system that drafts smoothly, meets local Lexington building codes, and keeps toxic fumes safely out of the living envelope.
